The new version was titled "Tell Me Why" (or can be the longer "Tell Me Why the Stars Do Shine" or "Oh, Tell Me Why (The Stars Do Shine)" and is now considered a Children's Song. In 1945, Edwards, Spaeth, and Parish modified Mower/Burtch's 1899 work "Why I Love You" into more of a traditional folk tune and took the original Chorus and built around it.
